The Finder window seems to be missing something, and that is a curious new thing for those using Lion. The situation doesn’t have to be permanent, but the status bar is disabled as the new default setting. The status bar can be enabled any time you want some of the items, which are on it, to be shown. If you go to the View menu, you can change the Status Bar setting, which will take the default setting and get rid of it. The default setting has it hidden, but it can be shown just as easily. A recent development in Lion that has tended to be more of an annoyance to long-time users of Macs concerns the Dashboard. When you want to get various references quickly, which you were able to do with the old ways, you don’t really want to change. There is an option which you can use, that will show the dashboard as a space, and that way the old way can be still used. After you go to System Preferences, and locate the right preference, then the goods can be found in Mission Control.
